Career path:

Federico Ferrero has a Bachelor Degree in Educational Sciences, a Bachelor Degree in Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences from the National University of Cordoba (UNC), Argentina. He has integrated the team of the Area of Educational Technology at the School of Philosophy and Humanities (UNC) and, from there, he has participated in projects for the institutional strengthening with digital technologies.

His doctoral thesis entitled "Learning Informal Logic and use of new technologies for diagramming arguments: a study case at the National University of Cordoba", was directed by Dr. Adriana Gewerc, co-directed by Dr. Diego Letzen, and sponsored by a CONICET grant (National Scientific and Technical Research Council), Argentina (2012-2016). The thesis analyzes, from the Vygotskian perspective, the learning of students who manipulate different formats of argumentative diagrams. Among them, it is proposed the examination of "networks of arguments" built using tools from Learning Analytics (Social Networks Analysis).

He currently holds a postdoctoral fellowship (2017-2019) also awarded by CONICET and directed by Dr. Adriana Gewerc and Dr. Diego Letzen to investigate the learning of computer programming from the Sociocultural Approach.

He has carried out research stays at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), the University of Cordoba (Spain), UNICAMP (Brazil) and, recently, at the Lab of Comparative Human Cognition (University of California in San Diego). He has also participated and collaborated in conferences and seminars dedicated both the New Technologies in education and the Theories of Learning. The communications and articles published are about these issues.
