Silvia López Gómez and Jesús Rodríguez Rodríguez, members of Stellae, coordinate a work that presents a sample of experiences related to the educational use of video games: “Videojuegos en la escuela, la universidad y los contextos sociocomunitarios“. It is far from attributing to these resources a low efficiency in the teaching-learning processes and it is up to them, on the contrary, to plan how their potentialities can be put at the service of the educational community.
“The set of contributions highlights the reasons why video games can be excellent resources for stimulating teaching-learning processes and methodologies for integrating their use.” Excerpt from the prologue of this work, by Begoña Gros Salvat (professor at the University of Barcelona) and Manuel Area Moreira (professor at the University of La Laguna).

Jesús Rodríguez Rodríguez and Silvia López Gómez
A work that includes experiences carried out in recent years in the Spanish and Latin American context and that show the possibilities that video games offer to education (learning procedures, strategies, motivation, decision making, problem solving, etc.). Its purpose is nothing more than to encourage the exchange between people interested in these resources for their employment in the field of education and thus promote the implementation of initiatives characterized by the appropriate use, pedagogically, of them.
Stages such as early childhood education, primary, secondary, high school, vocational training and even higher education are represented, as well as families, companies related to the video game industry and of course, socio-community institutions. More than 40 authors make up this work, such as Tania Caamaño Liñares or Almudena Alonso Ferreiro, also members of this team.
