GI Stellae researcher Silvia López Gómez leads, together with Apolinar Varela (UDC), and with Pablo Gayo Pérez—also from GI Stellae as support staff—the University Micro-credential in Playworker: Introduction to the Professionalization of Play for the Socio-Educational Sector, a pioneering training proposal aimed at professional qualification in the field of play as an educational, social, and community tool.

The course will feature a teaching team of recognized prestige in the fields of research, dissemination, and professional practice of play, including Manuela Vázquez Coto, Paco Veiga, Xosé López González, Manolo García Fernández, Apolinar Varela, and Raúl Fraguela Valle. Among the university teaching staff are members of the research group such as Jesús Rodríguez Rodríguez, a full professor who will provide pedagogical guidance to the students; Silvia López Gómez, who will address the potential of digital games and board games in educational and training contexts together with Pablo Gayo Pérez, a specialist in inclusion and diversity.

The course will be delivered in person on April 9, 10, 16, 23, and 30, from 16:00 to 21:00, at the Faculty of Education Sciences (Campus Vida). It offers 30 places and is aimed at people between 25 and 64 years old—an essential requirement for enrolment—both unemployed individuals and working professionals who wish to improve or update their training.

The micro-credential is certified by USC and recognized with 2.5 ECTS credits with European validity, which guarantees its academic endorsement and the accreditation of specialized competences in a field with growing professional projection.
