Last week, Fernando Lacaci, president of the Federación ANPAS Compostela (FANPA) and the secretary and member of the Stellae Research Group, Esther Martínez Piñeiro; presented their initiative at a press conference organized at Couceiro´s bookstore. This initiative focuses on knowing the opinions of families with children in school age on school canteens, in order to take the first steps towards a new management model.
For this, 2,760 questionnaires were delivered in nine public schools in Santiago de Compostela; addressing issues such as the price of the menu, origin of the food or the type of activities performed after the meal time.
Throughout this week, it has been known that more than 30% of the families have replied the surveys, surpassing the initial expectations predicted from FANPA. Now, data will be analyzed to carry out an overall assessment of the results. These results will be announced at the II Conference on school canteens, to be held on February 18 in Ames.
