On May 13, the Faculty of Education Sciences at the University of Santiago de Compostela hosted a presentation event for the results of the WebEDUSO project: Social Education Institutions Through Websites: Analysis and Proposals for Improvement, an initiative included in the III Call for Educational Innovation Projects aimed at the Faculty’s teaching staff.

The project was carried out with second-year students of the Degree in Social Education and aimed primarily to connect university education with the professional and social reality of organizations in the socio-educational field through the analysis of their websites.

The initiative involved collaboration between the courses Experiences and Resources in Social Education and Educational Technology, with the participation of faculty members Carmen Fernández de la Iglesia, Silvia López Gómez, Jesús Rodríguez Rodríguez, and Pablo Gayo Pérez.

Throughout the academic year, students conducted critical analyses of different organizations using evaluation guides and later produced audiovisual materials and digital resources presenting the results obtained and proposals for improvement. The methodology combined service-learning, digital literacy, and knowledge transfer to the participating institutions.

Around 70 students, faculty members, and representatives of various socio-educational organizations took part in the event held on May 13. Among the attendees were the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education Sciences, Zósimo López, as well as managers and professionals from organizations such as Quérote +, Acougo, and XOGA, among others.

During the session, the videos produced by the students were presented, and a space for dialogue was opened with the participating organizations, which highly valued both the initiative and the work carried out by the groups.

The project enabled students to gain closer insight into the professional reality of Social Education, learn about different areas of intervention, and reflect on the role of technologies and digital communication within the socio-educational field, while also fostering stronger links between the university and the social and community network.
