On October 22 and 23, the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela will host the XVII Seminar on the Evaluation of Didactic Materials Jaume Martínez Bonafé: “Gender and Didactic Materials”, a meeting that aims to open a space for critical reflection on the role of didactic materials in the construction of an egalitarian school.
The seminar is coordinated by Jesús Rodríguez Rodríguez and Silvia López Gómez, members of the Stellae Research Group, together with Clara Martínez Delgado (University of Valencia, who carried out a research stay at Stellae) and Milena Villar Varela (GEFIL Group, also from the Faculty of Education of the USC).
The organization is carried out by the CAVILA working group of Nova Escola Galega (NEG), with the support of the Department of Pedagogy and Didactics of the Faculty of Education Sciences (USC), as well as various institutions and research groups linked to the critical analysis of didactic materials, pedagogical innovation and gender equality in education, among them the Stellae Research Group itself.
The program includes several simultaneous workshops in which Stellae has a central presence. Among them:
- Analysis and critical evaluation of didactic materials from a gender perspective. Led by Pablo Gayo Pérez (Stellae) and Inés Merayo Fernández (SEPA group).
- Advertising, networks and visual culture: the hidden curriculum in the classroom. Delivered by Ángela González Villa and Uxía Fernández Regueira (both from Stellae).
- AI, stories and gender perspective. Led by Ana Rodríguez Guimeráns and Silvia López Gómez (also from Stellae).
In addition to these, the seminar will feature more simultaneous workshops, an opening lecture, panel discussions with specialists and innovative activities such as the escape room “Violet Code: the enigma of didactic materials.”
The seminar will bring together specialists, teachers from different educational levels and university students to debate how to integrate the gender perspective into school materials, analyze challenges and share good practices. It will be held at the Faculty of Education Sciences (Campus Vida, USC).
