The XXXIII University Conference on Educational Technology (JUTE26) took place at the University of Santiago de Compostela on June 10, 11 and 12 at the Faculty of Education Sciences (Campus Vida), organized by the Stellae Research Group.
There, two decades ago, the University Network of Educational Technology (RUTE) was born in order to institutionalize the community, offer greater possibilities to its participants and project its activities both in Europe and Latin America. The spirit of this process returns renewed 20 years later under the title that gives its name to these conferences: “Critical Digital Literacy for a Hybrid Coexistence”. This created a space to reflect, share and try to respond to the complex questions posed by hybridity in contemporary society and in the educational field in particular for the development of a critical digital citizenship.
After the inauguration with the corresponding authorities, Prof. Mairéad Pratschke gave the invited presentation: “The new hybrid: from disruption to coexistence”.
Subsequently, the communication panels were developed, in the morning and afternoon, highlighting the large participation of the members of the Stellae group—indicated in bold—within the framework of the different projects in which it participates, as shown below:

Thursday also served to commemorate the two decades of history of the academic network under the slogan “RUTE: 20 years making the way” and with the round table “Teaching in educational technology in Spain: looking to the future”, which included the interventions of professors Adriana Gewerc, Cristina Alonso and professor Cristóbal Suárez-Guerrero, it served to analyze the evolution of the TE discipline and the challenges it faces in the coming years.
Another of the highlights of the congress took place on Friday, June 12, with the presentation of Prof. María Acaso and Prof. Elisa García Mingo, under the title “Upskirting/Sexpreading/SlutShaming. Visual sovereignty as a tool to combat digital sexual violence in school”.
