Uxía Regueira, researcher in the Stellae group, has been awarded the Extraordinary Doctoral Award 2023–2024 in the area of Social Sciences, sub-area of Educational Sciences, by the University of Santiago de Compostela. This distinction recognises academic excellence and the research trajectory developed throughout her doctoral work, which must have been evaluated as sobresaliente cum laude and nominated by the examining committee to compete for the award.
Her thesis, entitled “Gender dispositif and participation practices mediated in hybrid environments. A phenomenographic study of adolescent girls in Galicia to rethink digital competence”, was supervised by Adriana Gewerc and carried out within the research group under a contract funded by the Predoctoral Training Grant of the Xunta de Galicia (2020). In this work, Uxía Regueira examines the processes of interaction and participation mediated by digital technologies in adolescents’ everyday lives, focusing on the negotiation of subjectivities, the construction of knowledge, and emerging forms of agency among adolescent girls in hybrid environments.
