The Research Group Stellae organizes The Research and Theories of Significance Seminar, given by Dr. Daniel Saur, which will take place on April 30, May 7 and 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Teams.

The seminar has as its starting point the epistemological reformulation produced in the field of Social Sciences from what was called "Linguistic turn" or critique of essentialisms. The proposal starts from the various contemporary problems that arise at the episteme level due to the corrosion suffered by the traditional positivist assumptions present in the research activity, which was historically organized around the notions of Adequacy, Precision and Truth. For this reflection, which involves the central aspects of knowledge production and some of the main contemporary theoretical and methodological debates, traditions that have enriched the discussions and helped to generate critical resources, originated in the field of poststructuralism, will be recovered. the postmarximo, pragmatism, semiology and psychoanalysis, forming a general map of discussion.

In this context, the seminar will continue, directing the work towards a specific field of inquiry, a tributary of the Linguistic Giro and promoted by Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe, known as Political Discourse Analysis (APD) or Essex School. Although the APD is made up of a series of research tools, it does not consist of a theory or a specific methodology, it is, on the contrary, an open Intellection Horizon that is based on multiple contributions, resting on ontological and epistemological principles. precise. For these reasons we propose to offer an introductory look at APD as an analytic that offers a series of multiple resources and varied strategies for research in the social field.

The outstanding characteristic of this Horizon resides in the attention placed on the political dimension, on historicity and on a radical relationalism of the processes of signification.
