The Stellae Research Group is developing a new line of training called Coffe and Reading. A permanent, monthly seminar around the reading of different reference authors for the advancement and theoretical development of the EDIGA National Research Project (Digital environments and gender identities in adolescence) in which the group is working.

Since the beginning of this seminar, in the 2019/2020 academic year, the members of the Stellae Research Group have made an exhaustive tour of different authors, works and theories. The starting point for this seminar was with Clifford Geeertz and his work Local Knowledge: Essays on the Interpretation of Cultures. After reading it, the seminar was resumed with different sessions dedicated to the work of Bruno Latour and the understanding of his actor-network theory.

It was also considered relevant to delve into Erving Goffman due to his relevance to understanding media performances in digital environments. His work The Presentation of the Person in Everyday Life was considered a good starting point. For a better understanding of this, a seminar was attended by Professor Jorge García Marín, sociologist and professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela, who connected Goffman's theory with mediated practices in social networks.

Last academic year 2020/2021, Coffee and Reading focused on Michael Foucault. Different works of this author were taken to understand in depth the different concepts of him, of great relevance for the theoretical approach of the research project. For a greater depth, there were two seminars with Dr. Andrea Torrano from the National University of Córdoba with which, through different works by Foucault, three fundamental concepts of his thought were addressed: Power, Technology and Subject.

This week, Coffee and Reading was resumed in this academic year. For continuity with the lines of work followed previously, it was decided to start with Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari and their work Anti-Oedipus. Capitalism and schizophrenia, which allows to retake elements of Foucault's thought while delving into new concepts for the theoretical support of the research works that are being developed in the group.
