From 14 to 18 November 2022, within the framework of the EU project Improving quality standards for career learning and guidance (Guiding Schools) (2020-2023): 2020-1-IT02-KA201-079116, the International Training on Improving quality standards for career learning and guidance was held.
 
Professors Rebeca García Murias and Elena Fernández Rey (USC), from the Stellae research group, had the opportunity to attend the meeting as partners and experts in the field, together with two teachers from an Integrated Vocational Training Centre in Galicia.
 
The event took place at the University of Bari (Italy), where the project partners together with other professionals in the field of education and career guidance in Europe had the opportunity to discuss various aspects of interest from both a theoretical and practical approach. Specifically, after a brief presentation of the mentioned research project, an introduction to the training (objectives and methods) that would take place during the week was given. Then, the work and group dynamics (discussion groups, workshops, presentations...) began, where the different professionals had the opportunity to exchange and share experiences and expectations in relation to multiple relevant aspects, among others: What do we understand by quality in career guidance? A journey through Europe, educational guidance in different European countries; International discussion group on the six areas to ensure quality guidance for all students (presentation of the Guiding Schools handbook); Career education: creating career learning activities; Career information: resources and tools to support students in exploring and planning their academic/vocational careers; Career counselling: the need for a qualified conversation with experts, a career guidance centre at school - Some case studies (interview with colleagues from Norway and Sweden); The e-learning project platform: how to use it and how to improve it; the competences of teachers and guidance practitioners; the role of teachers and guidance practitioners in a quality system; the reflective practitioner and reflection on what has been learned; etc. OR...where the various professionals had the opportunity to exchange and share experiences and expectations in relation to many relevant aspects in the field.
 
In addition, the participants had the opportunity to carry out study visits, for example to the "Porta Futuro" centre, a career guidance service in the city of Bari, as well as to other services belonging to the University of Bari.
