Community development, intergenerational dialogue and the promotion of active aging are some of the results that researcher Lucía Abarrategui presented last December 2022 on the occasion of the defense of her doctoral thesis.

Today, the USC newspaper echoes this investigation, which evaluated the process of creating a radio space where both students from the Barouta CEIP and older people in the area discussed aspects of cultural heritage. Among the main conclusions of the research titled: 'Radio as a resource for the promotion of intergenerational education, active aging and socio-community inclusion', it can be seen that the initiative allowed to break stereotypes, improve relations between young and old people, promote active aging and motivate the learning

With this thesis, Lucía Abarrategui together with her tutor Jesús Rodríguez and tutor Helena Zapico (members of the Stellae Research Group), state that radio represents an opportunity for dialogue between generations and the promotion of a society for all ages.
