On Monday, October 21, the first meeting of the research project entitled "Digital teaching materials in Early Childhood Education" was held at the Faculty of Education Sciences (USC). This project is coordinated by Jesús Rodríguez Rodríguez, member of the Stellae group, and Manuel Area of the University of La Laguna. This project was funded by the State Research, Development and Innovation Program in the 2018 call and will be developed in the period from 2019 to 2021.

In this day more than twenty researchers from the autonomous communities of Galicia, Valencia and the Canary Islands participated and they stablished the work for the next three years.

The project aims to reflect on a series of questions such as: what kind of educational materials are offered digitally in our country for the second cycle of Early Childhood Education?, how are they used in the classroom and at home?, what vision does the teachers have and the families of the students on the educational effects of these resources?, among others.

To answer these research questions, the project is divided into four studies consisting of: analyze the pedagogical characteristics of a sample of digital educational platforms of Child Education Materials (Study 1), identify the visions of the agents involved in the design and use of educational digital content (Study 2), conduct case studies of the use of digital teaching materials in the classroom and at home (Study 3) and develop a guide to good practices on production, distribution and use of digital teaching materials in Early Childhood Education (Study 4).
