On July 7 and 8, 2022, the International Discourse Analysis Workshop (dC IWoDA'22) will take place in hybrid mode at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) under the theme: Digital Technologies and Gaming: Implications and Applications for the use of language, teaching and learning.  The face-to-face sessions will be held in the auditorium of the Faculty of Philology of the USC while the online sessions will take place through Teams.

A multidisciplinary learning meeting between academics, professionals and stakeholders to promote research and practice on discourse and the properties of language from plural perspectives through case studies, tools and methodologies of the topics addressed. With an extensive history in previous editions (2011, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2018) the IWODA is organized by the SCMITAR linguistics team within the Discourse and Identity research group of the USC, together with the Stellae Research Group of the USC and others such as LITLINAL, ENTELEARN and MuStE.

Two members of the Stellae Research Group participate in its organization: Adriana Gewerc, part of the Scientific Committee and Boris Vázquez Calvo, member of the Organizing Committee as community manager. Both will be coordinators of the panels Educational policies, internationalization, sustainability and society and Gaming and video games: Trends and challenges, respectively, along with other academics.

The presentations are framed in the following lines:

  • Digital environments and literacies: Design, testing and evaluation
  • Gaming and video games: Trends and challenges
