On 29 May, the University of Paris Cité hosted the presentation of the book ‘Disciplinary and Trans-Disciplinary Knowledge and Skills for an Uncertain Future: Are Educational Media up to It?’, as part of the 17th IARTEM International Conference. The presentation was made by some of the coordinators of the work present at the conference at that time, such as Jesús Rodríguez Rodríguez, member of the Stellae research group at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Gilherme Romanelli, head of the Núcleo de Pesquisa sobre Publicações Didáticas (NPPD) at the Universidad Federal do Paraná, and Alessandra Anichini, from the Instituto Nazionale Documentazione Innovazione Ricerca Educativa (INDIRE), in Italy.

This book compiles several of the papers presented during the last international edition of the conference, held in Florence in April 2022. The 16th IARTEM Conference was a particularly challenging conference, held in a context where the COVID-19 pandemic was still exerting a notable influence. In this sense, the event represented a critical opportunity to resume an academic dialogue that seemed to have been interrupted by global circumstances.

The book provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of research in the field of textbooks and digital resources for teaching in the international context. The richness of its content derives from the reflections and contributions of scholars from different parts of the world, providing an accurate and up-to-date picture of this area of study.

For those interested in further information on the topics addressed, the book is available in open format through the following link:  https://www.bookrepublic.it/ebook/9791281278202-disciplinary-and-trans-disciplinary-knowledge-and-skills-for-an-uncertain-future-are-educational-media-up-to-it-iulpress/.

This presentation not only highlighted the importance of the work in question, but also underlined the continuing need for joint research and debate on the role of educational media in an uncertain future, building international collaboration for quality education.
