Rebeca García Murias

Professional Profile

Teacher in Foreign Language (English) and Degree in Psychopedagogy from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). He completed his PhD in the Department of Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education (MIDE) of that University. He defended his Doctoral Thesis in 2014, focused on the Exploration of the information needs of the students of the Erasmus program and proposals for guiding action, for which he obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate Award.

Professor at USC from 2009 to 2015. She was a beneficiary of a Postdoctoral Research Contract (within the framework of the Axudas program of apoio á etapa de Formación Posdoutoral, do Plan Galego de Investigación, Innovación e Crecemento 2011-2015 (Plan I2C)) where she joined the University of Applied Labour Studies of the Federal Employment Agency (HdBA): Hochschule der Bundesagentur für Arbeit (HdBA) , in Mannheim (Germany) from 2015 to 2017. After the postdoctoral period, he obtained a work contract as Teaching and Research Staff in this same institution (2017-2022).

He is a member of the Interuniversity Network of Guidance Teachers (RIPO) as well as the European Network NICE (Network for Innovation in Career Guidance and Counselling in Europe), exercising in the latter the function of Member of the Committee on Elections and Ethics.

Its main lines are: Educational, Professional and Labour Mobility in Europe; Career Guidance and Counselling (CGC) in the European context; CGC competencies of international mobility counselors; Research perspectives for Lifelong Learning and Lifelong Learning in Europe; Work Based Learning (WBL) initiatives, cooperation between VET and the world of work; social intelligence skills and social emotional learning (SEL) skills in the context of career guidance.

She currently performs her research and teaching role as Assistant Professor of The Doctor in the Department of Pedagogy and Didactics, Area of Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education (MIDE) of the USC.
