The OnlineFirst version of the monograph Youth, gender identity and power is available on digital platforms under the coordination of Adriana Gewerc, coordinator of the Stellae Research Group, Inés Dussel (National System of Researchers -SNI- of Mexico) and David Lee-Carlson (Arizona State University - United States). The monograph is part of the project being developed by the Stellae Research Group called EDIGA (http://stellae.usc.es/ediga/proyecto/) "Digital Environments and Gender Identities in Adolescence" financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (PID2019-108221RB-I00).

It is made up of different articles that explore the construction of gender identity in youth through their practices on digital platforms. Among them is the article Selfies and video clips of adolescents: Role of gender, territory and sociocultural level by Uxía Regueira, Ángela González-Villa and Esther Martínez-Piñeiro; members of the Stellae Research Group.

This article, which is based on the first results in light of the EDIGA project, analyzes the production of selfies and video clips among adolescents from Puebla (Mexico) and Galicia (Spain) according to gender, territory, and sociocultural level. The results show that the selfie is a popular practice among adolescents with greater extension than the video clip, evidencing significant differences in its production in terms of family sociocultural level and territory. Similarities were also found in the level of preparation and the meanings that lead to these practices and gender differences in their production in terms of meaning,¡materialities and bodily expression. The study points to the transition of knowledge and meanings that occurs between the selfie and the video clip, highlighting the need to analyze the gender experience in social networks in relation to the forms of power that operate in these spaces.
